100 Women Writers to Read in My Lifetime

To read at least one book by all the 100 women writers on the list below is a long-term reading project I’m pursuing inspired by Jean at Jean’s Thoughts (please check out her blog post, if you haven’t yet). Having Jean’s list as a starting point, I curated my own, mainly in order to add some Portuguese writers. If you want to know more about why I found this idea so interesting, you can read my original blog post on this subject.

The following list features authors whom I had already read one or more books by before putting it together, whom I have been wanting to read for a really long time, and whom I only discovered after doing some research for the purpose of this project. Whenever I finish a book by one of the yet unread authors, I tick off the name.
